Private Event: Milestone Birthday Party & Surprise Marriage Announcement
EVENT OVERVIEW
Hunter Events — one of the top ten Corporate Event Planners in San Francisco — planned and coordinated a private milestone birthday celebration at a private residence in beautiful, sunny Palm Springs . The event was both warm and heartfelt, as its purpose was to celebrate this milestone birthday and -- make a surprise announcement of the couple’s marriage to their unsuspecting guests!
Hunter Events also played a vital role in the planning the overall event, the layout, design, rentals, lighting, décor, food and beverage -- and overall production of this very special event.
BIRTHDAY CELEBATION
Guests were invited under the guise of celebrating a milestone birthday and the 10-year anniversary of the couple’s loving relationship. An hour in to the party, the guest of honor welcomed the guests and thanked all for attending. After the honoree made a heartfelt speech along with life pictures, the guests burst in to a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday alongside a beautiful custom-made cake. Shortly afterwards, the couple acknowledged their 10-year relationship and made a toast to that milestone as well. Then, the guest of honor told the crowd she had one more announcement to make…
MARRIAGE REVEAL
After celebrating her birthday, the guest of honor made one more statement -- sharing with her guests that she had a video to show them of her 10-year relationship with her partner. At this point, her partner joined her near the screen. Unbeknownst to the guests, the video showed a beautifully edited video of the couple actually exchanging vows and getting married on a private boat in the San Francisco Bay earlier that year in June.
The video played and the crowd was both surprised and gob smacked as they heard and watched this unexpected yet wonderful announcement of their life union! When the announcement was made, the catering staff removed the Birthday Cake and replaced it with a beautiful custom-made wedding cake, with a visual behind it reading, “Love is Love”. The crowd was indeed surprised and filled with happiness, joy and grateful to be a part of this incredible event of love, life, marriage and these two monumental milestone events.
CATERER AND VENDOR SELECTION
The event was a huge success, as Hunter Events researched then hired the best event vendors in the area, including First Class Catering their incredible and professional staff, Bright Event Rentals Exquisite Desserts and Gregg Felsen Photography.
Hunter also hired an event videographer, Scott Saraceno of Saraceno Media to tape and edit the actual ceremony, which took place on San Francisco Bay earlier this summer.
One element Hunter did not have ANYTHING to do with was the setting – their beautiful home with stunning vistas. This was truly a magical, beautiful and memorable event that no one – including me – will ever forget.
