Hunter Events — one of the top ten Corporate event planners in San Francisco — planned and produced a one-of-a-kind old-Hollywood themed Corporate Anniversary Event and Awards Ceremony. This event was held at the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland, California. From the moment the guests arrived, they were greeted by a variety of colorful entertainers ranging from Elvis, Marilyn, Groucho —and so many more!


As with all corporate Company Events planned by Hunter Events, the menu for this reception was carefully crafted and tailored to the Client’s specific needs. Guests enjoyed an array of hors d’oeuvres and a selection of fine cocktails throughout the evening. Mouthwatering entrées of vegetarian dishes, a garlic crusted roast beef and grilled salmon carving station, and a seafood and dim sum bar delighted each guest. A delectable dessert bar, complete with chocolate éclairs, lemon squares, fudge brownies and gourmet cupcakes rounded out the experience.

The Oakland Scottish Rite Center was constructed in 1927 and remains an exquisite venue for almost any type of event. Situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Merritt, the Scottish Rite Center is located near downtown Oakland and just a short ride from San Francisco, making it a convenient destination for the event attendees.

The event took place in the Center’s Grand Ballroom. With over 10,000 square feet, two full-sized projector screens and full stage, this special event space perfectly met the Client’s needs for the corporate event and awards ceremony. Hunter Events created custom signage throughout the space to complement the theme, and to provide wayfinding and important messages for the guests.
Raised cocktail tables draped in rich crimson lame linens were set throughout the room and adorned with soft glowing candlelight. This thoughtful setup allowed colleagues to socialize and mingle comfortably and provided enough space for the hired Hollywood entertainers to freely move throughout the crowd as they mingled and posed with the guests.

Hunter Events set dramatic lighting throughout the Scottish Rite Center’s Grand Ballroom to create a decadent setting for the evening. The venue’s dignified and unique character completely embodied the Old-Hollywood theme and no other venue could have provided such ambiance. Hunter Events’ desire to always introduce both the Client and their guests to fascinating and exclusive venues they may not otherwise experience, was the driving force in selecting the Oakland Scottish Rite Center for this Corporate Company Event and Awards Ceremony.


Colleagues gathered for this “Night the Stars Came Out” Old Hollywood event to experience hours of show-stopping entertainment at the Corporate Company Event and Awards party. The guests were awed by the Hollywood style performers and actors hired by Hunter Events.
The walk-around entertainment, included the handsome Elvis, beautiful Marilyn and the witty and charming Mae West look a-likes – all of whom charmed the crowd and posed for pictures with the guests. Old fashioned styled walk around candy girls offered chocolate cigars, candies and other goodies to the guests.

Two customized photo opportunity stations were designed and built by Hunter Events. One was a replica of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, complete with a custom marquee including the Client name and logo and a plush red velvet bench where guests could kneel, pose and dip their hands in to the (dried) cement as they smiled for the camera. The other photo opportunity set was staged as a red-carpet walk, complete with the Client logos step and repeat as the back drop, rope and stanchion, a variety of props including boas, clips boards and director chairs – all while the paparazzi snapped away to take their pictures. Each guest was given their treasured instant photos in a customized matte as a give-away gift.
The Awards Ceremony was held on the grand main stage, which was flanked with gold sparkled film reels. A Hollywood styled Master of Ceremonies hosted the glamorous Awards event.


Guests at this Hollywood styled Corporate Anniversary Event and Awards Ceremony were able to celebrate their achievements in a most unique and unforgettable way. The delectable menu items, the exquisite beverages and the non-stop entertainment impressed each and every attendee. But above all, the beauty and elegance of the remarkable Scottish Rite Center defined the event like none other.
